Is Figueretes a Good Base in Ibiza? My Experience & Stay

Is Figueretes a good base in Ibiza?

I spent 3 nights staying in Figueretes at the beginning of a 10-night trip to Ibiza, and it felt like the perfect starting point. It was mainly a solo trip, but my Dad also flew out and joined me for 3 nights. We weren’t on a party-focused holiday. Instead, I wanted a convenient base with good accommodation, plenty nearby, and easy access to both the airport and the rest of the island.

When I spotted affordable accommodation in Figueretes the day before flying out, I thought, “This looks like it could be perfect.” The location stood out immediately – waterfront access, easy airport transfer, and a short walk into Ibiza Town. So I went for it and booked Hotel Vibra Villa, and I’m so glad I did!

Location

Where is Figueretes and why is it so convenient?

Figueretes sits on the edge of Ibiza Town, the island’s capital. That alone makes Figueretes a great base, as Ibiza Town is one of the island’s must-visit destinations, full of restaurants, shops, beaches, historic sights and nightlife.

Located around 1-2km from the main shopping area, marina and Ibiza’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, Dalt Vila, a stay in Figueretes lands you within easy walking distance of the action while offering a relaxed coastal atmosphere.

Playa d’en Bossa, Ibiza’s longest beach, is also just a short walk (or taxi ride) from Figueretes. Along with providing plenty of beach space, it’s home to some of Ibiza’s most well-known clubs, making Figueretes an excellent choice if you want nightlife nearby without staying directly in the party scene. Many travellers who stay in the party town of San Antonio still head to Playa d’En Bossa for nights out, often noting the longer journey and expensive taxi ride. Staying in Figueretes helps to limit that problem.

One of the best things about staying Figueretes is how easy it is to reach from the airport. Ibiza Airport is only around 7km away, so arrival and departure are really straightforward compared to more remote parts of the island. Airport buses connect the two in around 30 minutes, while taxis take about 15 minutes, and fares are generally quite low thanks to the short distance.

Being in Ibiza Town, Figueretes is well-connected to the rest of the island. Cetis Bus Station is around a 10-15 minute walk away and offers direct bus connections to many popular destinations including San Antonio, Santa Eulària, Es Canar and Portinatx. So, Figueretes is a really convenient base in Ibiza if you want to explore the island easily using public transport.

There’s even a direct ferry to the paradise island of Formentera from Figueretes itself, making a day trip super convenient (although I ran out of time when in Figueretes so made that trip from San Antonio, which was a longer boat ride!).

I’ve written about my San Antonio to Formentera trip here if you want an idea of what a day there is really like.

What Figueretes Is Actually Like

Figueretes definitely has a laid-back, holiday feel to it. It’s lively without being overly busy or chaotic, which makes it a great base if you’re visiting Ibiza for a more relaxed trip.

I love that it’s this chill coastal escape situated between the more bustling areas of Ibiza’s Dalt Vila and Playa d’en Bossa. It feels more local and geared towards relaxed getaways than the stereotypical “party Ibiza” experience (although you’ve still got plenty of nightlife nearby if that’s what you’re after!). Figueretes really felt like the perfect spot on my visit!

Figueretes beach is the closest beach to the centre of Ibiza Town – so if you’re after a beachy base, it’s an excellent option. It’s not one long beach, but rather a few sandy bays backed by the waterfront promenade with hotels, restaurants and cafés directly on it. After being modernised a few years ago, the Figueretes promenade is well-maintained and feels like a modern, relaxed holiday spot. Its location also makes it really easy to explore the rest of Ibiza, including a day trip over to Formentera.

I’m a seaside and beach lover, so having direct beach access made me very happy, whether it was for a morning beachfront run, an afternoon stroll or simply sitting and chilling on the beach itself.

One of the surprises for me was the nearby trails and viewpoints. I went for a run and kept along by the water which led me to some rugged coastal trails. It was pretty cool – very few people but stunning views over the coastline towards Figueretes, Playa d’en Bossa and beyond on the one side, while on the other I could see Ibiza town’s marina, and the walls around Dalt Vila. ‘Hidden’ gem spots so nearby like this definitely tick extra boxes for an ‘adventure/runner/hiker gal like me!

I actually loved Figueretes so much that even after I’d moved on and was staying in San Antonio, I headed back for a little chill in Figueretes between buses after a day trip to Portinatx. That probably says it all really! Honestly, had accommodation in Figueretes been as cheap as what I found in Es Canar and San Antonio as a solo traveller, I would have happily spent more nights here – it really is an excellent base in Ibiza.

Figueretes is best suited to:

✔ First-time visitors
✔ Couples
✔ Solo travellers
✔ Relaxed, non-party trips
✔ Travellers who want easy logistics and good transport links
✔ Budget-conscious travellers
✔ Short stays or longer trips – ideal as a quick base or longer-term hub for exploring Ibiza

Where We Stayed in Figueretes, Ibiza

We stayed at Hotel Vibra Vila, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The hotel had only just been renovated and reopened shortly before our stay (May 2026). You could actually still faintly smell the fresh paint in the hallways, and everything was fresh, modern and well maintained.

But what really stood out was the location. The hotel is:

  • Around a 20-second (!) walk to the nearest bus stop, with direct airport connections (it honestly surprised us how close it was when we arrived – we got off the bus and saw it right there).
  • Just 100m from the Figueretes promenade and beach, as well as cafés and restaurants – I loved being right by the beach without the beachfront price tag, and we also ended up grabbing a burger just steps away and pizza opposite it one night – so easy to find good food nearby!

  • Next door to a Spar supermarket (super handy), with larger supermarkets like Lidl and Aldi about a 5–10 minute walk away (perfect for the cheapest snacks and water).
  • Around a 20-minute walk from Ibiza’s Dalt Vila and marina – I loved being able to easily walk into town whenever I wanted, which made everything feel really flexible.

The location was a big win, and the hotel itself was genuinely a great place to stay.

We stayed in a twin room, which was very comfortable and pretty spacious for a hotel room. There was no tripping over luggage! The decent-sized balcony was a bonus, and you could actually see the airport bus stop from it. The bathroom also felt brand new. It was neither particularly big nor small, with a powerful shower and toiletries such as shampoo and shower gel provided, along with a hairdryer. I barely heard any noise from other guests (I also wasn’t there in peak season, though!). The only main thing lacking in the room was a kettle. The fridge was quite small, but it did the job for keeping bottles of water and snacks cold.

Facilities-wise, there is a “rooftop” pool (although it’s technically on level 5 rather than the actual top floor, so I’m not sure if it really counts as rooftop!). Either way, it’s a nice spot to catch some rays, with views across the surrounding area. Reception is also open 24 hours, which is handy for late arrivals, and there is even a dedicated co-working space in a separate (glass-walled) room by reception. I found the Wi-Fi to be reliable throughout my stay, which is useful if you plan to work remotely.

I was able to store my luggage after check-out, which was especially useful as I didn’t head to my next destination (Es Canar) until the afternoon. The hotel offers breakfast at an additional cost (I didn’t try it myself).

During my stay at Hotel Vibra Vila the overall vibe was chill, quite quiet – not a party hotel! That suited us very nicely as we could retreat from the busier areas into a nice, comfortable relaxed space just metres from the beachfront.

Note: I was a bit sceptical before arriving as the Booking.com rating was “only” 7.6. However, I don’t think this really reflects the current version of Hotel Vibra Vila, as it had only just reopened. Most reviews are from before the renovation, which likely explains the lower score (and the good price we managed to get!).

I’d definitely stay here again. If you’re looking for a well-located base in Ibiza close to Ibiza Town, Playa d’en Bossa and the airport, it’s a solid option – a modern stay that gives you great access to everything without paying beachfront premium prices, yet it’s still just a street away from the sea! You can check current prices and availability here.

There are also plenty of other great accommodation options in Figueretes if you want to compare what’s available – you can check them out here.

Quick summary

✔ Great base for Ibiza Town and exploring the island
✔ Easy transport and airport access
✔ Relaxed beach vibe without being too quiet

✖ Not a full-on party destination
✖ Not as scenic as some of Ibiza’s more natural beach resort areas

Final Verdict: Is Figueretes a Good Base in Ibiza?

I would absolutely stay in Figueretes again. It has that perfect mix of being relaxed and convenient, with easy access to Ibiza Town and transport links. It’s a compact area, but that’s part of the appeal – you can really chill out there, then easily head out to other spots when you feel like experiencing more of what Ibiza has to offer.

Figueretes can be an excellent base for both short and longer trips, and feels welcoming whether travelling solo or with friends or family. Plus, Figueretes has plenty of accommodation options so you’re sure to find something that suits you!

For travellers looking for a relaxed yet well-connected base in Ibiza, Figueretes is hard to beat.
